Fans cracked more than 80,000 soft copies of the new album, making it an iTunes record.
The self-titled album “Beyoncé” sold 828,773 and easily shadowed Justin Timberlake’s record of after the March release of “The 20/20 Experience,” according to Apple.
Beyoncé’s album was released exclusively in Apple’s online iTunes Store and became a top seller in 104 countries, Apple said.
Beyoncé had surprised the fans with the un announced release of her fifth album exclusively on iTunes and creating a sensation n the internet. Even though the release was unannounced it is an elaborate album featuring shots from all over the world.
Beyoncé is seen returning to more of her feminist side and is performing with her husband Jay-Z and baby Blue Ivy.
“I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans,” Beyoncé said in the statement.
Beyoncé’s work has been described as a “visual album” as it has shots from around the globe featuring Paris, Sydney, New York and Rio de Janeiro.
Beyoncé brings out some of the most talked about issues of feminist as in her song “pretty hurts” she plays the role of a beauty pageant contestant who is working hard to keep a trim waist.
“Blonder hair, flat chest / TV says bigger is better. South Beach, sugar free / Vogue says thinner is better,” sings Beyoncé,
The hard copy CD/DVD of the album will be available in stores by Christmas.
